Western Precast wants to congratulate the employees who have 20 years plus of service within the company. Their commitment doesn’t go unnoticed and they are very appreciative of the time and hard work they’ve put into the company. These are the following employees and their stories.

20 Years – Carlos Delgado

Carlos Delgado has been with Western Precast for 20 years. Carlos started as a production member and over the years took advantage of moving up with the company on a couple of occasions. Carlos says that David Feuerstein encouraged him to get his CDL license to drive and train as a crane operator. Carlos has been in the position of driver and crane for the past  15 years. Carlos got his national crane certification a few years ago and that is surely a source of pride for him, no small achievement. When asked why he picked Western Precast as his career option, he stated that he had been laid off from his then-current job and was passing by Western Precast and the rest is history. Carlos stated that it is the people he works with that motivate him to remain loyal to Western and he also values all the opportunities that have been offered allowing him to grow in his career. Carlos further commented that his employment at Western made it possible to buy his home. His real pride in life are his daughters. One of his daughters will be graduating as a teacher this month from UTEP and his other daughter is currently attending high school. Finally, he shared his thoughts about being a tenured staff here at Western, “the years have given me a sense of knowledge in my field and the feeling of being part of a work family is invaluable. ” Carlos stated that he is very grateful for all the opportunities that have been given him here at Western.

Carlos Delgado ha estado en Western Precast durante 20 años. Carlos comenzó como miembro de producción y con los años aprovechó para ascender en la empresa en un par de ocasiones. Carlos dice que David Feuerstein lo animó a obtener su licencia CDL para conducir y capacitarse como operador de grúa. Carlos ha estado en el puesto de conductor y grúa durante los últimos 15 años. Carlos obtuvo su certificación nacional de grúas hace unos años y eso es sin duda un motivo de orgullo para él, un logro nada desdeñable. Cuando se le preguntó por qué eligió Western Precast como su opción de carrera, dijo que lo habían despedido de su trabajo actual y que estaba pasando a Western Precast y el resto es historia. Carlos afirmó que son las personas con las que trabaja las que lo motivan a permanecer leal a Western y también valora todas las oportunidades que se le han ofrecido que le permiten crecer en su carrera. Carlos comentó además que su empleo en Western hizo posible comprar su casa. Su verdadero orgullo en la vida son sus hijas. Una de sus hijas se graduará como maestra este mes de UTEP y su otra hija actualmente asiste a la escuela secundaria. Finalmente, compartió sus pensamientos acerca de ser un miembro del personal titular aquí en Western, “los años me han dado una sensación de conocimiento en mi campo y la sensación de ser parte de una familia laboral es invaluable. Carlos manifestó que está muy agradecido por todas las oportunidades que se le han brindado aquí en Western.

21 Years – Jose Mejia

Jose Mejia has been with Western Precast for twenty-one years and is a concrete finisher in the production department. Mr. Mejia has been a finisher since he arrived here at Western. His excellence in being a true “Maestro” with concrete was evident from day one and his dedication has never wavered. Mr. Mejia arrived at Western after being referred by his brother-in-law. Mejia states, “Western was my first option and the best option for me.” Mr. Mejia shares that his motivation comes from being part of a very prestigious company here in El Paso, and this drives him to do his best every day. Mr. Mejia told us that his Western Precast was his first job after he emigrated to the United States and the position here at Western helped him and his family to settle into the city. He stated, “I want to thank the company from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to be a part of Western Precast.” Mejia beams with pride when speaking of his daughter who is an accountant and his two sons who own their own companies. Mr. Mejia talks about the economic stability that the work has brought him and the companionship of his colleagues and the friendship he has made here at Western over all these years. Well, Mr. Mejia, we are proud to call you our friend, and thank you such a valuable team member.

Jose Mejia ha estado con Western Precast por veintiún años y es un acabador de concreto en el departamento de producción. El Sr. Mejía ha sido un finalizador desde que llegó aquí a Western. Su excelencia en ser un verdadero “Maestro” con concreto fue evidente desde el primer día y su dedicación nunca ha flaqueado. El Sr. Mejía llegó a Western luego de ser recomendado por su cuñado. Mejía afirma: “Western fue mi primera opción y la mejor opción para mí”. El Sr. Mejía comparte que su motivación proviene de ser parte de una empresa muy prestigiosa aquí en El Paso, y esto lo impulsa a dar lo mejor de sí todos los días. El Sr. Mejía nos dijo que su Western Precast fue su primer trabajo después de emigrar a los Estados Unidos y el puesto aquí en Western lo ayudó a él ya su familia a establecerse en la ciudad. Dijo: “Quiero agradecer a la compañía desde el fondo de mi corazón por la oportunidad de ser parte de Western Precast”. Mejía sonríe con orgullo cuando habla de su hija, que es contadora, y de sus dos hijos, que son dueños de sus propias empresas. El Sr. Mejía habla de la estabilidad económica que le ha brindado el trabajo y el compañerismo de sus colegas y la amistad que ha hecho aquí en Western durante todos estos años. Bueno, Sr. Mejía, nos enorgullece llamarlo nuestro amigo y gracias por ser un miembro tan valioso del equipo.

27 Years – Ruben Rodriguez

Ruben Rodriguez has been with Western Precast for twenty-seven years soon to be twenty-eight this August, he is quick to add. Ruben currently serves as electric and utility box foreman. When he arrived at Western he was part of the production staff. He is proud of his accomplishments over the years and moving up to the foreman shows his dedication and commitment to quality. Ruben shared that he was looking for a construction job when he came to Western and that he had experience in construction and concrete. When asked what motivates Ruben, he stated the years of service and the family he has found here at Western means everything to him. While here at Western Ruben has been able to provide for his three daughters and take care of his family. One of his daughters lives in Hawaii and another lives in Spain and is a medical doctor, and his third daughter lives in Midland. Ruben smiles when he talks about his daughters and the pride he has for what he has been able to them is clear. Ruben states, “the benefits of being a long term leader here at Western brings so much satisfaction and just being part of the success and growth of the company is gratifying.” Thank you, Ruben for your years of service, we truly appreciate you!

Rubén Rodríguez ha estado con Western Precast durante veintisiete años y pronto cumplirá veintiocho este agosto, se apresura a agregar. Rubén actualmente se desempeña como capataz de cajas eléctricas y de servicios públicos. Cuando llegó a Western formaba parte del staff de producción. Está orgulloso de sus logros a lo largo de los años y ascender a capataz demuestra su dedicación y compromiso con la calidad. Rubén compartió que estaba buscando un trabajo de construcción cuando llegó a Western y que tenía experiencia en construcción y concreto. Cuando se le preguntó qué motiva a Rubén, dijo que los años de servicio y la familia que ha encontrado aquí en Western significan todo para él. Mientras estuvo aquí en Western, Ruben ha podido mantener a sus tres hijas y cuidar de su familia. Una de sus hijas vive en Hawái y otra vive en España y es médico, y su tercera hija vive en Midland. Rubén sonríe cuando habla de sus hijas y se nota el orgullo que tiene por lo que ha podido con ellas. Rubén afirma que “los beneficios de ser un líder a largo plazo aquí en Western brindan mucha satisfacción y el simple hecho de ser parte del éxito y el crecimiento de la empresa es gratificante”. ¡Gracias, Rubén por tus años de servicio, realmente te apreciamos!

27 Years – Sergio Arvizu

Sergio Arvizu has been with Western Precast for the past twenty-seven years. Sergio holds the position of Safety Personnel Director. Sergio has served in the same capacity for his entire career at Western. It was all those years ago when Western was going to a trial run a position of safety director and Sergio applied for the job. Sergio agreed to a temporary position so that the position could be developed and given structure. Well, it goes without saying Sergio fit right in and has been the only safety director Western Precast has ever had. Sergio says the support he receives from ownership and staff alike is his motivation, keeping people safe! Sergio’s time at Western has given him the opportunity to provide for the economic well-being of his family. Respect and loyalty are two-way street according to Sergio, you give these things to your company and they will give it back. We are so proud to have Sergio on staff as he continues to keep everyone safe each workday. When Sergio asks; where is your hard hat, put those steel toe boots on, strap up your back belt, don’t go any higher on that ladder, tuck in that shirt, cut the chit chat and concentrate on your task, it may seem a nag or personal, and after all it is, it’s your personal safety. Sergio Arvizu ha estado en Western Precast durante los últimos veintisiete años. Sergio ocupa el cargo de Director de Personal de Seguridad. Sergio ha servido en la misma capacidad durante toda su carrera en Western. Fue hace tantos años cuando Western iba a probar un puesto de director de seguridad y Sergio solicitó el puesto. Sergio accedió a un puesto temporal para que se pudiera desarrollar y estructurar el puesto. Bueno, no hace falta decir que Sergio encaja perfectamente y ha sido el único director de seguridad que ha tenido Western Precast. Sergio dice que el apoyo que recibe tanto de los propietarios como del personal es su motivación, ¡mantener a las personas seguras! El tiempo de Sergio en Western le ha dado la oportunidad de proveer para el bienestar económico de su familia. El respeto y la lealtad son caminos de doble sentido según Sergio, estas cosas las das a tu empresa y te las devuelven. 28 Years – Angel Najera

Angel came to Western Precast 28 years ago. Angel began his career at Western as a production team member and is proud of his advancement over the years. Najera currently serves as a manhole production foreman. Angel learned about Western Precast from a friend and says it was just the type of job he was looking for at the time. Angels says that his daily motivation was driven by the sense of being happy and comfortable with the daily challenge here at Western. Najera comments that the stability of working at Western and being part of the team brings security and has helped him buy his home, cars and provide for his family. Finally, Angel shared that being a veteran at Western and knowing the work provides a great deal of satisfaction and pride. “Knowing that my contribution is valuable to the mission and that I am an important part of the company is very gratifying.” Well Angel we are so proud of you and your contribution to Western!

Ángel llegó a Western Precast hace 28 años. Angel comenzó su carrera en Western como miembro del equipo de producción y está orgulloso de su avance a lo largo de los años. Nájera actualmente se desempeña como capataz de producción de bocas de inspección. Ángel se enteró de Western Precast por un amigo y dice que era justo el tipo de trabajo que estaba buscando en ese momento. Angels dice que su motivación diaria fue impulsada por la sensación de sentirse feliz y cómodo con el desafío diario aquí en Western. Nájera comenta que la estabilidad de trabajar en Western y ser parte del equipo brinda seguridad y lo ha ayudado a comprar su casa, autos y mantener a su familia. Finalmente, Ángel compartió que ser un veterano en Western y conocer el trabajo proporciona una gran satisfacción y orgullo. “Saber que mi aporte es valioso para la misión y que soy parte importante de la empresa es muy gratificante”. 37 Years – Jesus Garcia

Jesus Garcia has been at Western for a whooping thirty-seven years! Jesus started as a production team member, moved into the position of finisher, and now serves as one of our production foreman. Jesus talks about his father, Vidal Garcia had worked here many years back when the company was Western Concrete Works and the opportunity to work with his father become an opportunity and a reality. When asked about what motivates him, he shares that he likes the work, it is pleasant, and the salary and the opportunity to earn well are valuable. Jesus said that the position here at Western has elevated his lifestyle. He shares that his career here at Western helped him provide for his children; he has two sons who own their company in Juarez and one daughter who is a homemaker. Finally, Jesus talks about the benefits he sees in his long-time employment at Western; “the knowledge and the experience one gets are so valuable.” Thank you, Jesus, for your dedication and hard work, we are proud to have you on the team.

¡Jesús García ha estado en Western durante treinta y siete años! Jesús comenzó como miembro del equipo de producción, pasó a la posición de acabador y ahora se desempeña como uno de nuestros capataces de producción. Jesús habla de su padre, Vidal García había trabajado aquí muchos años atrás cuando la empresa era Western Concrete Works y la oportunidad de trabajar con su padre se convirtió en una oportunidad y una realidad. Cuando se le pregunta sobre qué lo motiva, comparte que le gusta el trabajo, es agradable, y el salario y la oportunidad de ganar bien son valiosos. Jesús dijo que la posición aquí en Western ha elevado su estilo de vida. 38 Years – Jorge Rodriguez

Jorge Rodriguez has been with Western Precast for an amazing thirty-eight years! When George first arrived in Western he was working with David in the parking lot painting division. George later moved into production, then became a production foreman, and today serves as Production Manager. George came to Western while still a high school student at Riverside High. George’s vocational teacher Mr. Aguirre sent him to work at Western as he had a relationship with then General Manager Mr. Kramer. George said: “Everyone treated me with respect and I like the work.” When asked what is his motivation to remain at Western all these years, he said, “the way we are all treated with respect and the recognition they always give for each staff member’s accomplishments.” He noted that some of the benefits such as the company funded profit sharing plan and the 401K matching contributions is a real benefit. Being able to send to send all his children to college and being able to purchase his home and being able to provide so his wife could remain at home and not and not have to work has been very satisfying to George. Finally, George wanted to share, “the stability you have and knowing the people you work for are family not bosses where I am treated like family and knowing they are always there for me has meant so much.” George you are a family and you are important part of the success here at Western. Thank you for all your years of dedicated service.

Cuando George llegó por primera vez a Western, estaba trabajando con David en la división de pintura del estacionamiento. Más tarde, George pasó a producción, luego se convirtió en capataz de producción y hoy se desempeña como gerente de producción. George llegó a Western cuando aún era estudiante de secundaria en Riverside High. El maestro vocacional de George, el Sr. Aguirre, lo envió a trabajar en Western ya que tenía una relación con el entonces Gerente General, el Sr. Kramer. Finalmente, George quiso compartir, “la estabilidad que tienes y saber que las personas para las que trabajas son familiares y no jefes donde me tratan como familia y saber que siempre están ahí para mí ha significado mucho”.
