The Western maintenance shop recently completed the annual maintenance on our batch plant. This consists of replacing damaged or worn parts; the mixer blades and arms, replacing the oil in all components of the mixer as well as replacing the cable for the bucket that carries all the raw materials to the mixer. In addition, the weights that are used in measuring the material inside the bucket are checked for damage due to normal wear and tear and environmental erosion as parts are exposed to weather. The replacement of the mixer blades is essential as proper mix design can not be achieved by our QC department if the blades are not adjusted to fall within tolerance which is 1/8″ above the floor of the mixer. Keeping the batch plant mixer and other components in top mechanical condition is one of the first steps necessary to achieving the desired output in concrete production. All the parts and mechanical components of the batch plant must be maintained to manufacturers specifications. Keeping all this in check allows minimal wear at high temperatures which occurs in the main gear inside the mixer. In addition to the annual large maintenance, monthly inspections are performed to detect problems early and to be able to stay one step ahead of a breakdown. The goal is always to control the maintenance and minimize downtime on the batch plant mixer so that we can keep the quality flowing.

Mantenimiento de Invierno

El taller de mantenimiento occidental completó recientemente el mantenimiento   anual de nuestra planta de lotes. Consiste en la sustitución de piezas danadas o desgastadas; las palas y brazos de la batidora, reemplazando el aceite en todos los componentes de la batidora asf como reemplazando el cable del balde que lleva toda la materia prima a la batidora. Ademas, las pesas que se utilizan para medir el material dentro de la i cubeta se revisan en busca de danos debido al desgaste normal y la erosion ambiental debido a que las piezas estan expuestas a la intemperie. El reemplazo de las paletas de la mezcladora es esencial, ya que nuestro departamento de control de calidad no puede lograr un diseno de mezcla adecuado si las paletas nose ajustan para caer dentro de la tolerancia, que es de 1/8″ por encima del piso de la mezcladora. Mantener el mezclador de la planta dosificadora y otros componentes en óptimas condiciones mecanicas es uno de los primeros pasos necesarios para lograr el rendimiento deseado en la producción de concrete. Todas las piezas y componentes mecanicos de la planta dosificadora deben mantenerse segun las especificaciones del fabricante. Mantener todo esto bajo control permite un desgaste mfnimo a altas temperaturas que ocurre en el engranaje principal dentro del mezclador. Ademas del gran mantenimiento anual, se realizan inspecciones mensuales para detectar problemas a tiempo y poder estar un paso por delante de una averfa. El objetivo siempre es controlar el mantenimiento y minimizar el tiempo de inactividad en el mezclador de la planta de lotes para que podamos mantener el flujo de calidad.
