“Don’t Be Selfish—Your Family is Waiting for You”
Reaching 750 days without a lost time incident is no small feat, and Safety Director Sergio Arvizu knows why it matters. “It’s about awareness,” he says. “Every day, we train, inspect, and hold each other accountable. Safety isn’t just for you—it’s for the people waiting for you at home.”
With 29 years at WPC, Sergio leads by example. “What I teach, I practice. Safety has to come first, every single day,” he explains. “Because yesterday’s safety doesn’t count today—you start fresh, and you do it better.”
For new hires, his message is clear: “If safety isn’t part of who you are, this isn’t the place for you. But if it is, you’ll be part of a team that looks out for each other.”
