Project Highlight: Los Alamos Energy Lab

Richard-Alvarado-Los-Alamos-Energy-Lab

Richard recently shared insights into one of his current projects at the Los Alamos Energy Lab in northern New Mexico. This historically significant facility requires specialized infrastructure, and Western Precast is on board to provide essential materials such as curb inlets, surface inlets and high security manholes.

This project marks Western’s fourth collaboration with Los Alamos, which functions as a federal installation under the Department of Energy. Each delivery follows strict protocols to ensure seamless operation. Richard emphasized how his team’s commitment to detail, quality, and safety consistently meets the lab’s high standards— a responsibility his team takes pride in. The project unfolds in phases, adding a unique challenge. Working in coordination with federal and military teams, Western Precast navigates production timelines that align with the lab’s specific scheduling needs. This partnership allows them to deliver results efficiently, adapting to the requirements of an installation that operates almost like a self-contained base, with residential facilities, a grocery store, and limited other amenities for the permanent team on-site.

For Richard and his team, delivering to Los Alamos goes beyond construction work; it’s a commitment to national security, reliability, and adaptability in one of the most secure environments in the U.S. energy landscape.
