Building Quality, Finding Purpose
For José Alfredo Garcia, being a finisher at WPC is more than just a job—it’s a source of pride. Every morning, he and his team prepare the forms and boxes, ensuring everything is precise before the concrete is poured. “I make sure the quality is there,” José explains. “Once it’s perfect, we move forward. That’s when my role really begins—finishing the floors, leveling, and getting everything finished properly to specifications.”

After nearly ten years of service here at Western, what keeps him motivated? A love for working outdoors after years in enclosed factory jobs. “I needed a change,” he says. “Being outside, feeling the air, it makes a difference.”
When asked about his favorite memories, José reflects on something deeper—the colleagues he’s lost over the years. “Some good people passed away during COVID and from illness. Remembering them makes me value my time here even more.”
Outside of work, José spends weekends in Juárez, fixing up his home, and cherishing Sundays with his family in El Paso. “Family time is everything,” he says.
