Freddy Sanchez has quickly made a name for himself as a dedicated assistant in the Maintenance Department’s mechanic shop. With just under two years in the role, Freddy has shown an exceptional commitment to his craft, transitioning from diesel mechanics student to a skilled technician.

Freddy’s journey began when a department supervisor recognized his interest in mechanics and offered him a chance. “All I had to do was prove myself,” Freddy recalls. Now, he spends his days working hands-on with diesel systems, where he says, “I’m always learning something new. No day is the same, and I love it.“

The environment at the shop is highly collaborative, and Freddy values the constant communication within his team. He’s also earned several certifications, from diesel mechanics to HVAC and electronics, which have strengthened his skills and confidence. “These certifications aren’t always required, but they make a big difference,” he notes. For Freddy, each day is an opportunity to grow. And with his enthusiasm and commitment, he’s become an integral part of the team.
