Featured Employee: Gus’s Growth as a Welder at Western

Employee-Feature-Gus-Western-Precast

Gus starts his day as a welder by reviewing plans and measurements to make sure he has all the required rebar and materials to start his tasks. After everything is
organized, he collaborates with the cutter to set the workflow for the day.

One of the key things he’s learned in his role is patience, a quality he’s developed further with the guidance of a retiring coworker who has passed on valuable skills and insights. This transition has been both challenging and rewarding, giving Gus a deeper understanding of the work.

As he anticipates fully joining the company in a few months, he’s excited about being an official part of Western. Working here has provided him with a new level of expertise, especially with the precision and consistency required in this type of welding.

This experience is significantly different from previous welding roles, as it demands constant attention to detail and careful handling. This makes each day a valuable learning experience.
