Western joins TCPA

By: Leo Feuerstein Secretary-Treasurer, Operations Manager

Western Precast has joined the TCPA (Texas Concrete Products Association). Last year Western Precast made the decision to join the association and felt that this was a great step towards promoting and strengthening the value of precast concrete products in all its forms. It might be RCP (reinforced concrete pipe), box culvert or precast concrete in the form of manholes and inlets. Taken from Chris Rowland’s linked in page, “The Texas Concrete Products Association has become one of the premier associations in the state of Texas. The work the team does educating, advocating and empowering is incredible. The member companies are some of the finest in the industry.“

Further, from the TCPA’s online presence, “The Texas Concrete Products Association serves as the voice for the concrete pipe and concrete products industries in the State of Texas.” From the Western Precast point of view, joining an association that works at the state level to promote BABA (buy American build America) and push for plant certification at the municipal level was so important. While the national association NPCA (national precast concrete association) is and has been vital at securing the enforcement of certified plants and thus providing state DOT’s the assurance of uniformity and conformance to national standards, to date in Texas there has been no uniform requirement for certification or buy America at the municipal level. The team at TCPA has been cris-crossing the state to visit all Texas cities to promote the value and importance of certification and concrete products.

Western Precast is proud to be a member of this association as we continue to strive towards elevated standards for the specifying community and the citizens of Texas.
